Question - Treatment - Anorexia:

Boy 13 years, suffered from anorexia . Pertinent laboratory findings were hepatic dysfunction .The most likely diagnosis was hepatitis, seeking internal and external experts to rescue my child.

Answer:

Hepatitis can be caused by a virus or by some substance such as a chemical or a substance in a food which attacks the liver. There are three forms of viral hepatitis: A, B and C. All are caused by viruses of different kinds, all of which infect the cells of the liver. Hepatitis A is a short disease and usually gets better by itself, leaving an immunity to hepatitis A. Hepatitis A does not cause lasting liver damage. Hepatitis B lasts longer, and although hepatitis B usually goes away by itself after a while, also leaving an immunity, it sometimes remains in a chronic state and can last for years, or can become aggressive, badly damaging the liver. Hepatitis C is almost always chronic and progressive, damaging the liver as well. Hepatitis caused by chemicals or substances in foods usually resolves when the chemical or food is removed. There are few effective Western medical treatments for hepatitis caused by viruses. Interferon is sometimes used and sometimes works, especially in hepatitis C, but the only truly effective treatment is prevention by vaccination, though this is currently available only for hepatitis A and hepatitis B. A vaccine accents hepatitis C may be available in a few years. Traditional Chinese medicine doctors have used treatments for hepatitis for many hundreds of years which can be remarkably effective.

Doctors of traditional Chinese medicine probably have more experience treating hepatitis effectively than most if not all Western doctors, and it is always a good idea to consult a very good doctor of traditional Chinese medicine when someone has hepatitis, even if that person is also being treated by a Western doctor. We hope this information is helpful to you and we wish you and your son good luck. Please write again if we can be of assistance.
